WHO WE ARE
PEACA
The Parliamentary Forum on East African Community Affairs (PEACA) is a platform that brings together Members of National Parliaments of Partner States who has interest and passion for the East African Community (EAC) integration Agenda. The Forum was formed in 2018 to ensure effective Parliamentary participation and influence on the social, political and economic integration of East Africa.
PEACA is governed by an 11 Member Executive that is responsible for providing strategic oversight of the forum as well as a functioning Secretariat headed by the Executive Director. Currently, the Forum is comprised of over 100 MPs and Associate members derived from private sector, civil society, academia, senior citizenry and Foundations. Being the first parliamentary forum on EAC affairs in the region, the forum has influenced and enhanced capacity building of Members of Parliament to actively participate in the EAC integration process

Objectives
The main objective of PEACA is to ensure Effective Parliamentary Participation and Influence on the Political, Social and Economic Integration of EAC.
Specific objectives;
- Facilitate the implementation of the four pillars of the EAC integration agenda.
- Strengthen harmonious working relations with National Parliaments, EAC organs and institutions in the furtherance of the Integration process.
- Develop a Communication Strategy that will enable information flow across EAC systems and institutions.
- Enhance collaborative engagements with the Private sector, Development partners, civil society and other stakeholders.
- Promote human rights, gender equity, youth issues, good governance, democracy and transparency among Member States.
- Promote Peaceful resolution of conflicts among Partner States.
